The Five Great Classics were linking books that were considered to be of the utmost value, either due to the mastery of The Art used to create the age or because of it's influence on the D'ni. One of the Five Great Classics, Master Talashar's, is desecrated in The Book of Ti'ana by A'Gaeris, who uses Talashar's own handwriting to alter the age.
