A King of D'ni

BiographyEdit

Born in 3574, Kedri was the son of King Ti'amel and Shama. Once he was born, Shama dedicated herself to his raising, vowing that he would not be the same kind of man as his father. He also had a sister 30 years younger. Kedri was much influenced by his mother. He took the throne in 3654 at the age of 80.

He was a king for the people and often walked the streets of D'ni and attended events with the rest of his people, as though he were one of them. He led a number of small proposals that often benefited the lower classes, assured the higher classes that they were the right thing to do. The most popular king in history, according to most historians, it seems most D'ni people agreed with Kedri's decisions and nonetheless all respected and cared for him greatly. Numerous books and journals written about him.

He married in 3686 at a public ceremony, open to all who wished to attend. As one writer said of the event, "if you did not want to be there, you did not want to be D'ni...".

According to a story, in 3702 he walked on Ae'gura, then set aside for the elite, and noticed that "his people" were not there. He established the Shamathen District on the Island as a "more affordable" residential district. He directed money to massive renovation projects throughout the D'ni City including further additions to the Great Temple, the Opera House, and continued Rakeri's project of repairing the deteriorating Belari Ditrict, with further innovations. He also donated his own Age of the Kings written during the reign of his grandfather Tejara, to the Common Library.[1]

Kedri passed away in 3903 at the age of 329, leaving the throne to his first-born son Lemashal.
